It extends across for about 35 km from the Strait of Messina and the lower Tyrrhenian. The coastline, squeezed between the sea and the mountains, is dominated by jagged coasts and ravines like the cave of the hawk. The seabeds, similar to the tropical ones, still possess unspoilt ecosystems.
