The town situated at 790 meters above sea level, in the province of Vibo Valentia originates from the old town, called Terravecchia, and a newer quarter with numerous churches is a testimony of the local confraternities. The real attraction is the town’s natural beauty, but a prominent place is undoubtedly occupied by the Certosa, the abbey which can boast a long millennial history and first Carthusian monastery in Italy.
