Village located 545 meters above sea level, on a hill on the Calabrian side of the Valley of the Mercure (Pollino National Park). Its main feature is the presence of several rural districts that cover almost the entire country, all more or less inhabited, where traditional agriculture is still practiced and where the habits and customs of the place are better preserved. The real highlight of Laino Castello is the historic center: a hamlet consisting of houses set on a hill. From a naturalistic point of view, moreover, the territory does not disappoint the expectations of the most demanding mountain lovers. In fact, the Lao river and nearby trails are suitable for different types of excursions.
